Solar Management
Design, efficiency, and comfort that transform natural light into an architectural element.
The importance of solar management for sustainability, energy savings, and optimal visual and thermal comfort.
Façades are a key area of architectural research, where glazed surfaces require efficient solar protection systems that optimize the management of light and heat, improving energy savings and user well-being.

Architecture and Solar Control
With Bandalux solutions, each space achieves a balance between comfort, aesthetics, and energy savings, improving user experience and building sustainability.

Light intensity directly influences comfort, health, and performance. Bandalux solar protection systems help balance light and well-being in every space.

How is the impact of sunlight measured?
When light reaches a surface, part of it passes through (transmission) existing materials (glass or a curtain), another part is reflected outward (reflection), and the remainder is absorbed by the fabric and later released as heat (absorption).
These parameters are measured with the following indices:
Ts = Solar transfer factor
Rs = Solar reflection factor
As = Solar absorption factor
Visual Comfort
Bandalux solar protection systems control light entry, reduce reflections and glare, and ensure appropriate lighting for each space.

Thermal Comfort
Bandalux blinds, made with technical fabrics such as screen, blackout, or pearlescent, regulate light and temperature to ensure optimal thermal comfort. Fabric color also affects performance: dark tones absorb heat, while light tones reflect it.

Intelligent thermal control for comfort and efficiency all year round.

Did you know optimal work performance occurs at 22ºC?
Maintaining an indoor temperature between 21 and 22 °C improves well-being and productivity in workspaces. Bandalux curtains and blinds help maintain this thermal balance: reducing heat by up to 7 °C in summer, and using motorized systems with heat sensors to harness solar radiation in winter for a comfortable and efficient indoor climate.
Bioclimatic Façades and Energy Efficiency
In Europe, buildings account for 43% of total energy consumption. Bandalux promotes more efficient architecture with solutions that optimize thermal exchanges between interior and exterior. Its technical blinds reduce the solar factor and can decrease heating costs by up to 10%, improving interior comfort and contributing to energy savings.

Bioclimatic architecture aims to reduce environmental impacts by minimizing energy consumption.

Sustainable Design for a New Architecture
Beyond aesthetics, Bandalux curtains and blinds are key in bioclimatic architecture. Depending on fabric color and transparency, they can reduce room temperature by up to 10 °C. Solutions such as Aire® aluminum Venetian blinds or box systems with screen fabric allow up to 55% savings on air conditioning, making solar control an essential part of sustainable design.
